The kitchen had lost all of its power meaning that without immediate attendance and power restoration, potentially thousands of pounds of revenue would have been lost. The first issue discovered was down in the pub basement and NOT at this distribution board and consumer unit.
The power supply to these two units in the pub kitchen was fed from the basement on a circuit breaker. This circuit breaker had tripped causing total power loss to the upstairs distribution equipment.
Once the primary issue had been rectified, then began finding the cause of the tripping switch in the first place.

Fault finding is a step-by step process that involves methodical investigation, precise measurements and a good chunk of experience along with the expert knowledge of using specialised test equipment.
Fortunately, we were able to narrow down the issue to a faulty three phase oven in the kitchen where one of the phases had burnt out in the isolation switch behind.
